Week 1 Status Update
Preventative Health Care Project Kickoff
Week 1 (Jan 27th, 2014 - February 2nd, 2014)
Week 1 (Jan 27th, 2014 - February 2nd, 2014)
Project Champion / Sponsor: JLeavitt LLC (Industrial Design Student John Leavitt at RIT working with NYS Health Care professionals)
Description: According to Obama Care, health care professionals must now enforce preventative health care initiatives. Preventative health care can be seen as a mix of not only allowing patients to get health screenings (blood pressure, cholesterol, STI counseling) but also an initiative to provide their patients with education / plans to ensure they are taking the necessary steps to prevent continued visits. Under Obama Care, healthcare professionals now have to worry about getting billed themselves for having patients that have multiple appointments for the same issue. This project addresses that issue by providing healthcare professionals with a system that will allow their patients to interact with educational articles that will help prevent future checkups. The scope of this project is pretty big since the articles will have to become interactive, as well as have the ability to provide the healthcare professional with stats on each patients education experience securely without violating HIPAA standards.
